Saipem Wins $850M Contract for Angola’s Ndungu Field Project

Italian multinational oilfield services company Saipem has won a contract by international energy company Azule Energy for the development of the Ndungu field, offshore Angola. To the tune of $850 million, the contract covers engineering and construction services.

Under the terms of the contract, Saipem will spearhead the engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation of 60km of rigid pipelines and subsea facilities – planned at a depth of approximately 1,000 meters. Additionally, the company will be responsible for the transportation and installation of flexible flowlines, jumpers and 17km of umbilicals.

Saipem will conduct the fabrication works at its Ambriz yard in Angola while deploying the company’s Field Development Ship to complete the offshore installation campaigns. The vessel will also be used for the transportation and laying of rigid pipelines.

The Ndungu Field forms part of the broader Agogo Integrated West Hub project – located in Block 15/06. Saipem won a contract by energy major Eni in 2023 for rigid flowlines and subsea structure transportation and installation related to the development.
