Operations Start at AGL Lobito Terminal in Angola

Supply chain and logistics company Africa Global Logistics (AGL) has started operations at the container and multipurpose terminal located at Angola’s Port of Lobito. Dubbed the AGL Lobito Terminal, the facility has a capacity to handle upwards of one million tons of bulk goods as well as 100,000 TEU containers annually.

The terminal – awarded to AGL through an international tender in October 2023 – improves the connectivity of the Lobito Port platform, supporting the trade of minerals, agriculture products and various other commodities. AGL is committing 200 million euros to the terminal’s development and has partnered with international shipping line MSC to reduce transit times to European and American markets.

“The Lobito Terminal validates our strategy aimed at improving living conditions and promoting economic competitiveness through robust and multimodal logistics solutions that meet Africa’s challenges. Our operations on the Lobito Corridor will be essential to facilitate market access and support industries essential to the global economy…” AGL President Philippe Labonne said.
