The Association of Angolan Petroleum Service Companies (AECIPA) – comprising 150 members from the Angolan oil industry – is calling for greater focus to be placed on the implementation of local content.
Citing industry efficiency as a strategic benefit, the association says local content will support increased production in Angola in line with national targets of 1.18 million barrels per day.
Speaking in Luanda last week, AECIPA CEO Bráulio de Brito said that local content allows for greater participation by domestic service providers, thereby improving the provision of quality services through local investments, expertise and products. He added that it is crucial that companies prioritize workforce training so that staff are able to respond to the challenges and demands of the global market.
