As the largest privately owned local oil company in Angola, etu Energias plays a central role in the expansion and consolidation of Angola’s energy sector. Formerly known as Somoil, boasts a legacy of over two decades marked by a commitment to drive excellence and sustainability within Angola’s energy sector.
Since establishment in 2000, etu Energias has evolved into a key player within the Angolan market, actively contributing to the growth of the country’s upstream and midstream sectors. The company operates in four blocks and has set a target to increase production to 50,000 barrels per day (bpd) and 100,000 bpd by 2030. In late November 2023, the firm secured $60 million in funding from the Africa Finance Corporation to acquire stakes in oil and gas blocks co-owned by TotalEnergies and INPEX Corporation, hence solidifying its role within Angola’s energy market growth. In the energy distribution sector, etu Energias currently operates two Sonangol fuel stations with plans for expansion in this sector.
Beyond conventional energy, Etu Energias is committed to promoting clean and renewable energies, including solar, solar thermal, photovoltaic, biomass, hydro, mini-hydro, wind, and waste within the Angolan market.
