Dar Al-Handasah, Sun Africa to Collaborate on Renewable Projects in Angola, Nigeria

At COP28, the international design and engineering firm, Dar Al-Handasah, and Sun Africa, a utility-scale renewable project developer and off-grid solution provider, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on December 6.

According to the MoU, Dar Al-Handasah will provide comprehensive technical support, including design, project management, and construction supervision, for Sun Africa’s projects. Initially focusing on initiatives in Angola and Nigeria, the collaboration has the potential to expand to encompass projects across Africa, the Middle East, and other markets.

In addition to technical support, Dar Al-Handasah has committed to aiding Sun Africa in securing funding for upcoming energy transition projects. This agreement builds upon the existing partnership between the two companies, notably their collaboration on seven photovoltaic farms in Angola, boasting a combined capacity of 380 MW, and serving approximately one million people with renewable energy.
